Email Agent
Inspired by USV's Email Agent, Ellie (https://blog.usv.com/meet-the-agents), rebuilt as a generic version for any team that keeps files on people, organizations, or projects — not just a VC deal log. Hand it an email thread and the same entity folder meeting-scribe writes to. You get one dated log entry, plus one dated mention line on each entity file the thread actually names, each carrying a quote from the thread. It never guesses who a name refers to. A name either matches a file you already keep, gets proposed as a new entity for you to confirm, or is flagged as ambiguous with every candidate listed. And when the only person vouching for a mention is a sender your folder doesn't know, the skill asks before writing it. An email is riskier to read than a meeting transcript, so this one treats every header as a claim rather than an identity, never follows an instruction buried in the thread, never opens a link or attachment the thread carries, and never copies your own notes back out into anything the sender could read. It never reads live mail and never sends, drafts, or replies — hard rule, no exceptions. One limit worth knowing before you install it: the skill checks a sender's From address against the aliases in your own files, but it can't tell you the From address is real. There's no DKIM or SPF check. You're trusting your mail client to have done that. It ships with an eval contract and self-tests. It works alongside meeting-scribe (after a meeting), calendar-agent (before one), news-monitor (a periodic pulse), and librarian (content ideas) — all five read the same tracked-entity folder, but only meeting-scribe and email-agent append mention lines to it.

It never guesses: a name either matches a file, becomes a proposal you confirm, or is flagged ambiguous with every candidate listed. And if the only person vouching for a mention is a sender you don’t track, the skill asks first.
An email is riskier to read than a meeting transcript. Headers can be forged, a display name is only a claim, and threads carry links nobody should open blind. So it treats every header as untrusted, matches names only against your own files, never opens a link or attachment, and never copies your notes back out where a sender could read them. It never reads live mail, and never sends, drafts, or replies.
One limit, stated plainly. The skill works out who a message is from by matching the From: address against the aliases in your own entity files. It doesn’t check that the address is real — no DKIM, no SPF, no header check at all. Paste or export a thread and you’re trusting your mail client already did that. The alias match still catches typos and lookalike addresses. It won’t stop someone who controls the raw message.
It ships with an eval contract and self-tests. It works alongside meeting-scribe, calendar-agent, news-monitor, and librarian — all five read the same tracked-entity folder, but only meeting-scribe and email-agent append mention lines to it.
